The tongue may seem bad for animating, but it was the best that I believe was possible in the Source Engine, either that or you'd need to have 20 bones for the tongue, which I figured would be more painful to animate (and making them jigglebones wouldn't have solved anything either, as you'd still have to manually animate the parts to your specific needs). The tongue is controlled by 4 bones, and you may need to not only rotate, but also position the bones accurately to have the tongue be in a smooth curve. This is model was particularly tricky because of the tongue, although I did manage to fully rig it to be as "curvy" and "tentacle-y" as possible. His tongue is off by default, but can be enabled in the bodygroups options of the model! BFP used the animatronics to attack the player in order to communicate with them.
